HONOLULU (KHON2) – William S. Richardson School of Law student Mahesh Cleveland has been named as one of the top 20 law students of the year according to National Jurist magazine.
The publication honors law students nominated by their schools who “contributed the most to their law schools and communities in the past year.”
According to the university, Cleveland started at UH Manoa shortly after graduating from Punahou School, but did not finish.
He was a carpenter and musician in the mid-2000s, singing and playing in a reggae band. During the recession, the school says, Cleveland realized he had to so something else, and went back to school.
